core guest speaker
March 10th, during 2A. I've checked the theater availability on-line, and the day is open. We will be bringing our core of 90 students to the theater to listen to a guest speaker. The speaker has requested the usage of a computer and LCD projector, as well as a CD player. We have Jordyn West and Amanda Sweet in our core, and I was hoping that I could use their assistance with the visual and audio equipment. Would that be okay? Do they know how to use the LCD projector and computer? Thanks,

TROUPE PAPER TECH
Paper Tech (no actors) Prior to getting into TECH WEEK*, each of the designers (lighting, sound, scenic, and costumes) will meet with the stage manager to discuss lighting and sound cues, costume changes and movement of the scenery. This process is called paper tech because all of the technical aspects are written down on paper. The stage manager will place all of this information into the prompt book. Technical week (also called tech week, production week or h*$% week) refers to the week prior to the opening night of a play or musical in which all of the technical elements (such as costumes, lights, sound, and makeup) are added

TROUPE WET TECH
The wet tech rehearsal includes the performers. It runs through the entire production, either in its entirety or cue-to-cue. A cue-to-cue is when the sound and lights are run with certain parts of scenes within the production. Usually a scene will start with the first few lines and then skip to the lines and staged blocking for the next cue. This whole process can take many hours, and though it is beneficial for all aspects of production, it can become very tedious. They have been known to run long hours, mainly due to the stop & start and re-running of the Act.

CMEA State Music SET UP
All theater arts classes will be helping to clear the stage of the past show because of Star Testing. California Association of Music Educators On May 2nd and 3rd 2008, WHS will host the CMEA Area I Band Festival. The CMEA (California Association of Music Educators) Music Festival is a non-competitive, adjudicated music event held at various locations throughout California. WHS is the site host for the Area I (Marin, Sonoma, Mendocino Counties) CMEA Band Festival. This is a huge honor for WHS; we will have approximately 30 bands (not all at the same time) and over 1500 students, teachers, and parents visiting our school and using our beautiful facilities (M101, Theater, MPR). The festival runs from 3pm to 10pm Friday, and from 1pm to 9pm Saturday. Because of the festival we have reserved the theater all day May 2nd, and 3rd. See Dave Hill for performance info
