Last year, the Windsor High School staff created common assessments in all major curricular areas to assess student achievement. These assessments vary from department to department: some are essays, some are multiple choice, some are project-based. What they have in common, however, is the intent to measure student growth throughout the year so teachers may use the information to guide instruction and increase student progress. This information, together with state mandated testing and other forms of authentic assessment that the school (i.e., Senior Projects) and the teachers use provides a "big picture" of where students are successful and where more attention is needed for academic support. |
