The Visual Fine Art
Department of Windsor High School
The
Visual Fine Art Department of Windsor High School is committed to providing all
students with learning opportunities that promote personal expression and the
acquisition of knowledge and skills in the visual arts. Students study
historical and contemporary art in the process of creating their own work which
we believe promotes values important in a democratic society: appreciating
diversity, informed decision-making and expressing individual vision.
Our
students have the opportunity for continued study in the visual arts. Our
year-long, Standards-Based, UC?CSU approved visual fine art courses are sequential and include: Art I - World Influences, a beginning art course and
the prerequisite for all other 2-D classes, Art II - World Influences 2, Art III (P), Advanced
Placement Studio Art
and Digital Photography.
Students interested in the Visual and Performing Arts should consider “The Nueva School of the Arts" as their 11th- 12th grade focus area.
There
are three visual art teachers in our department. They are David
Beal, Cecile Keefe, and Lynda Nugent. Visit
their pages to learn more about them and the classes they teach.
Advanced Art students, Kaitlyn DeSpain and Dominic Wiggam
