The 7th Tenet
"We
celebrate our school district's support of the whole student: his or
her ability to create, to imagine, to dream, to direct, to lead, to
collaborate and to perform; by surrendering our inhibitions and
considerations and engaging passionately in the showplace of beauty and
magic called theatre."

The Windsor Jaguar Troupe, directed by Julie Raven, produces 1-2 major shows a year at the elaborate Performing Arts Center at the high school. Open auditions are held approximately 2 months prior to performances. Musicals are produced in collaboration with the Music department (David Hill - Music Director and NEW Choral Director - Marie Schrader usually every other spring). Jaguar Troupe Audition Policy PDF

THIS SEASON 2008-2009

After directing over 30 shows since 1995, Raven is trying a slightly different venue this year. In November, both Beg Theater Arts classes along with Theater Design class are producing, by invitation only, a Beg Theater Arts Recital Night. This will feature some of the best scenes and projects from Beg. Drama this semester and will allow the newest members of Theater Design class a gentle step into the world of Backstage crewing. Come January the Troupe will jump right into musical auditions for the spring musical: Once Upon a Mattress.
The story is a comic retelling of the fairy tale of the Princess & the Pea; although it first debuted in 1959, its modern humor might remind some of the recent Shrek films. Auditions are January 7th, 8th, 9th after 4th block, start in Theatre (reading, movement, singing- see Ms. Schrader about singing options). Come all 3 days, not recommended to only come to part of auditions.

Brief background of previous productions:
Last year The Windsor Jaguar Troupe celebrated its 13th year, a total
now of 30 productions under the direction of Miss Julie Raven in the Windsor
Unified School District.Graduate of Loyola Marymount University and California State University of Sacramento, Miss Raven
has won many awards in acting, set design, lighting, and was WHS's
Teacher of the Year in 2000. The troupe has an unique reputation for
producing productions of intense and realistic acting and spectacular
sets (inside the 3.5 million dollar theater that the community provided
for the school) both of which defy the typical perception of high
school productions: The
Lion in Winter, Wait Until Dark, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown,
Oscar Wilde's Ideal Husband, Sabrina Fair, The Elephant Man,
Dracula--the Dark Romeo, Neil Simon's Rumors...etc

ALLIANCE WITH SHAKESPEARE ON THE GREEN
All's Well That Ends Well far right Martin Wade & AJ Reilly
HISTORY
Founded
by Jim De Priest and Steven David Martin in 2004, Shakespeare on the Green
was formed to produce a summer Shakespeare festival, as well as provide
outreach programs for the Windsor community and schools. During the Summer of 2005, five WHS students & graduates joined the Shakespeare troupe for Midsummer’s Night Dream & Much Ado About Nothing, doing minor roles and backstage managing.
The 2nd year, many WHS students are involved in the show, pre-show and a special WHS only one-act pre-show directed by Miss Raven. Below dressed in white, Miss Raven acted on stage as the mischievous Maria in Twelfth Night.

Summer 2007 did not yield enough financial support to run, but this summer 2008 produced 2 shows: Comedy of Errors and All's Well That Ends Well.
Once again WHS students and alumni joined troupe: new onstage Anthony Ver-Meer and new backstage Leo Cacciatore assisting with stage managing and running sound equipment. Jaguar Troupe also helped out by loaning the Company lighting instruments and trees, an 8ft ladder and various set pieces. Returning were alumni AJ Reilly, Martin Wade, Marco Tevini (lights, set construction) and of course, the brilliantly funny alumni Franco Tevini (pictured below with AJ Reilly)
