As I interviewed Jesse Jacinto, our new ASB president, I could not help but ask him what he would like to be addressed as. Jesse would like to be addressed as "Juke", or " El presidente". Jesse seems to be full of life and ready to point WHS in the right direction. Jesse wants to promote self-respect among the students of our school. He told me " I want people to be proud of who they are no matter who they are!" He really seemed like he knew what he was talking about, and was very passionate about this. He doesn't have any different feelings about becoming president, he is still the same fun loving Jesse many of us know and love. But, there are people on campus who have more of a bad feeling about Jesse becoming our new ASB president. They say that his election was a "joke", and a " waste of time." I asked Jesse what he thought about that and he said that he will prove them wrong, and that he can accomplish whatever he wants to. During the time before and around the election he would simply say to those people " at least you go and vote." Short but right to the point.
I wanted to get to know Jesse and find out what he is like outside school, Jesse is a stand-up comedian and tours with a comedy show. He told me that all the profits go to the American Cancer Associations. That's not hard to believe if you know Jesse. Jesse is the kind of guy who wants to be " funny & respected." He will have many ideas and inputs on what we should do this year, he couldn't discuss with me, but I can't wait. If you see Jesse around campus don't be afraid to go up to him, share a hug or a laugh. Jesse wants to become a leader in the community. If that does not work out he wants to become some type of comedian. Jesse loves to be the center of attention, always having something to say. He wants everyone to know that he is going to be a great leader!
He is a very outgoing individual and loves to meet new people. Jesse told one big family and me he wants our school to be united. So watch out jags, Jesse is on the prowl.
