In the NBA this year, the Boston Celtics got the catch of the season, reeling in the big fish Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, who are both huge players in the game, physically and skillfully. They will be joining the Celtic's returning veteran and go-to man Paul Pierce. The Celtics are hoping this terrific trio will be able to lead them to the playoffs this year.
Kevin Garnett was traded over from the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he played at starting center. He avereged 22.4 points and 12.8 rebounds per game. Garnett feels that the key to the Celtics having a good season is how fast they can "gel." Ray Allen transferred over from the Seatle Sonics, where he played as a starting guard. Allen is the leading three-point scorerer in the lague, with 1,920 career three-pointers. Allen used to play on Kevin Garnett's team when they were younger, so hopefully reconnecting won't be an issue. Both Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett missed the playoffs last season, so they are going to come out hungry. As for Paul Pierce, his performance on the Boston Celtics has been exceptional, averaging 25 points per game. Predictions made by Sports Illustrated say that the Celtics have a good chance of not only making the playoffs, but possible winning the conference finals.
The Boston Celtics are coming back to the NBA completely revamped, and it is already becoming apparent that they are going to be force to be reconned with. Now all the Celtics have to do is learn how to play with their new teammates, and not get too confident going into this season. Boston has its first game of the season at home against Gilbert Arenas and the Washington Wizards. Arenas is a dominant player, so this will be the first test of the new Celtics, and how well they can deal with competition.
