The Windsor Educational Foundation is a volunteer-based, registered, California non-profit corporation. The Foundation assists in providing funding for various programs and projects related to musical performance and appreciation, the visual and performing arts, instructional enrichment projects, and student athletics.

The primary purposes of the Foundation are to create, organize and promote fundraising efforts throughout the year.  We invite you to participate in one or all of our annual events – including the Equinox Evening Gala Event held each fall and the Parent's Night Out Dance featuring live music and dancing provided by local band The Fits of Passion.   We also encourage general donations via an annual funding drive, and participation of district personnel by asking them to designate their United Way contributions to the WEF.

$0.97 of each dollar raised by the Foundation goes directly to the seven school sites within our district.  All of the Foundation funding allocated is distributed on a per-site/per-capita basis, using district enrollment figures.  Our grant application process is open to all district employees, and we work in conjunction with each school's Site Council, Leadership Team, or Governing Council to help ensure priority use of the disbursed funds.

Our Areas of Focus

Music

Along with its effect on brain development, music teaches many   important life skills such as concentration, cooperation and working within a group.  From the elementary ‘song flute' program through middle and high school band concerts and recital's, the WEF continues to support the development of music programs throughout the district.

The Arts

As each student progresses through the grades, we understand that it is of    paramount importance to ensure opportunities exist for experimentation, expression and education in all facets of the arts - whether they be in the visual, performing, interpretive and / or   literary realms.  The Foundation has always been a staunch supporter of all areas of artistic        development and education.

Sports

The many benefits of athletic activity for our children are indisputable; teamwork, personal fitness and health, overall well being - just to mention a few.  The WEF assists in the funding of various sport related endeavors with Windsor schools.

Academic  Enrichment

Every child has a special talent or interest that needs to be nurtured...it could incorporate     music, art or sports...but it could also revolve around math, science, history, language, technology, or business.  The WEF believes and unwaveringly supports the individual potential of every student, and therefore works to allocate funding toward many different elements of education here in Windsor .

Since the fall of 2001, the WEF has allocated over $260,000 in funding to the seven school sites within the  Windsor district
