CSF at WHS
The California Scholarship Federation (CSF), established in 1921, is a statewide organization to honor outstanding high school students. Membership is neither automatic nor compulsory. Students apply for membership the first four weeks of each semester; eligibility is determined by the grades of the previous semester. The first semester of eligibility is the spring of the sophomore year. A student who has been an member of CSF for four semesters (including one the senior year) becomes a Life Member (Sealbearer). Sealbearer status is noted on the students diploma and permanent record. Additionally, Sealbearers are awarded the CSF pin.
CSF’s motto is “Scholarship for Service”. Active club members participate in community service projects each semester, primarily tutoring. Students who earn Sealbearer and have participated in service projects each semester are awarded a CSF stole to wear at graduation. The CSF advisor at WHS is Marybeth Fenton. Membership application and additional CSF information is available at the advisor's page on this same website.
