“What if my family can't afford the $30.00 cost?”
Scholarships are available to any student who cannot afford all or part of the retreat fee through the fund raising efforts of the Unity Squad. Any amount of money that a student can contribute to cover their individual costs is greatly appreciated. To access these funds, simply write a letter addressed to WHS Administration stating that due to financial hardships you would like to receive scholarship money. Include the amount for which you are requesting. Submit this to your core teacher with your permission slip by September 7 th , 2006.
“If I am unable to attend the retreat, can I get my money back?”
NO refunds are given to students who are unable to attend the retreat.
“Can I bring a friend from another school or a parent?”
Parents and Guardians are welcome to attend the retreat. Contact your Core teacher to make these arrangements. Guests from other schools may not attend, as the purpose of Unity Retreat is to bring unity to Windsor High School .
“What do I need to bring to the retreat?”
All you will need to bring is some warm clothes (layers), comfortable walking shoes, and a positive attitude! We also recommend bringing a camera and some water. Lunch will be provided and is included in the cost. Cell phones (no reception) and walk/disc-mans will not be allowed on the trails and the school is not responsible for their loss or theft. Make arrangements for medication disbursement/requirements with your Core teachers ahead of time.
“What if I need to leave early due to practice/a game/activity/doctor's appointment?”
Students who need to leave early due to sports, activities, or previous obligations may do so with prior approval and arrangements. When you turn in your permission slip to your Core teacher, include a note explaining what time you need to leave, why , and who will be picking you up . Students can only be transported by their own parent or another adult with the completed and approved transportation forms available in the main office.
“What if I don't want to go to the Retreat? Can I just stay home?”
Unity Retreat is a school-sponsored field trip and is considered an instructional day. Students who do not wish to attend Unity Retreat must come to school . A sub and alternative assignments are arranged for students who do not attend the Retreat.
“What are the rules and expectations at Unity Retreat?”
As a school-sponsored event, all school rules and expectations apply, including dress code regulations. Students not meeting these expectations will be asked to leave; parents will need to pick their students up immediately and further consequences through the school's administration will be determined.
